The Private Islander is simply the dream of a private island enthusiast who can’t afford his own island. Though many people dream of owning their own island, the scarcity of islands for sale and the large amount of money involved in buying an island deters most people.
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something I can’t resist about private islands. The idea of having my own private land where I can do whatever I want without interruption is very appealing. Sure, there are plenty of other places where I could find privacy, but nothing compares to owning an island. An immense amount of work is involved in island-owning. You must essentially become your own country when you own an island, providing your little paradise with everything from infrastructure like buildings to utilities such as electricity and Internet. Many consider such responsibilities to be a burden, but the idea of being in charge of so much is very enticing. It’s for this and many other reasons that private islands are so coveted. Maybe some day I will be able to fulfill my dream of owning an island, but for now all I have is this blog, where you can find all kinds of information about islands, including private island news, guides for planning your own island dreams, and resources for current island owners.
